HardieTex is the original blue board. A cost-effective way to build a lightweight rendered wall without masonry. Help reduce double storey construction costs where two big cost-drivers are structural beams and scaffolding. Using HardieTex instead of rendered masonry can help significantly reduce costs. Manufactured by James Hardie for more than 20 years, HardieTex is a 7.5mm thick pre-primed base sheet recessed on long edges to facilitate the construction of concealed joints. HardieTex base sheets require finishing in a specialised texture coat system that incorporates jointing reinforcement and a texture coat. Fix to timber and steel frames to build extensions and second storeys without the weight of masonry. The strong fibre cement base sheet provides impact resistance and structural bracing. Pre-primed with recesses on the long edges for hidden joints. Coat with 100% acrylic or pure elastomeric high build texture coatings. Gun nail or hand nail with 2.8 x 30mm fibre cement nails. Resistant to damage from moisture, rot, termites and fire when installed and maintained correctly.
